Case study: We were approached by a leading UK retailer of equestrian products. They were not new to the online market but looking to re-brand, rebuild their website from scratch and expand their online product catalogue, which had been left unchanged for a long time due to the overcomplicated administration interface.We were able to offer a face to face consultation and demonstrate Magento’s advanced capabilities and user friendly interface. They were impressed with the platform and decided to implement it for their new website.We included two different types of product slideshow, a “Shop by brand” feature and several filtering options, as well as multiple currency, a blog page and social media integration to help raise the company’s online profile.

We created the initial categories and products for the website. Following a training session, we were able to hand over control of the administration to the Prestige Tack staff who are now able to log in individually and update the products as necessary.

GardenGirl UK

Case study: GardenGirl are a Swedish company that manufactures highly unique gardening apparel and accessories specifically aimed at women.Our client, as the official UK distributor for GardenGirl Sweden, wanted to retain the strong GardenGirl brand while at the same time remaining distinctive. We took on the challenge and came up with a fresh, fun and feminine design that shows off the wonderful GardenGirl catalogue of products.The aim of the website is not to sell the GardenGirl range of products directly to the public but to present it to potential UK resellers. We used an ecommerce platform in order to make use of its advanced product gallery capabilities but stripped it of all shopping cart functionalities.A blog system was installed and we created a product slideshow for the front page.

Perfect Pages

Case study: Perfect Pages create beautiful wedding stationery, all handmade in their Glasgow workshop: invitations, orders of sevice, thank you cards, table plans and much more. These are organised into collections, each with a different style and with a vast choice of colours and decorations.The heavy bands of colour of their previous website were overpowering the subtle, elegant tones of the catalogue images, so we approached the re-design with the intention of giving the photographs centre-stage. The general theme, which was bespokely designed, hints at “pages” and wedding cards without distracting the eye.A product gallery was integrated into the Content Management System and PayPal buttons were configured to allow visitors to order samples.What we did: Re-designed logo, designed bespoke template, configured product gallery, developed Flash banner, integrated PayPal buttons.

Case study: Inline Packaging Systems Ltd is a local East Dunbartonshire company. They have been trading successfully for many years within the packaging, weighing and inspection industry and were looking to revamp their obsolete website, which was not properly showing their extensive stock and the full scope of their services. THE WHEELS WORKSHOP

Case study: Tom is a young Hertforshire entrepreneur who recently launched his new business offering bike and scooter repair and maintenance in Hitchin and surrounding areas. His friendly, down to earth approach to business needed to be reflected in the design of his website. We opted for a cool, high-contrast colour scheme and incorporated mechanical parts into the design of the logo, as well as creating a custom made background suggesting tarmac. A blog was added, allowing Tom to post fresh content on a regular basis, which is known to help with search engine placement. The website was also linked to a Facebook page for better social media integration.What we did: Designed completely bespoke WordPress theme, designed logo, installed Content Management System and configured Blog page.

THEATRE PRESTO

Case study: Theatre Presto is the brainchild of thespian Preston Clare: it’s a new theatre company based in Glasgow and taking small productions around Scotland, particularly to residential homes and community day centres. The challenge was to create an exciting website that would capture the visitor’s imagination, but starting from a very limited amount of content, as no production had yet been premiered. We therefore added some strong graphic elements to the design, with bold yet elegant colours, in order to appeal to the more senior sector of the public. A YouTube channel was also created and integrated with the website. This allows the company to publish previews and samples of their latest productions. Their first Christmas Panto was a huge success and we believe their new website will help them go from strength to strength!What we did: Designed completely bespoke WordPress theme, designed logo, installed Content Management System, created photo gallery and integrated YouTube videos.

Case study: It is always a pleasure to work on eCommerce websites selling products that are really exciting and unique. Karen MacIver is one of the world’s top ballet class music composers. She has worked with dance companies all over the globe and accompanied countless classes. Her previous website was fairly well constructed, but a bit dull. It was also not built on an eCommerce platform. Karen was keen to start offering her music via direct download, so Magento with its built-in support for downloadable products suited her website perfectly. We developed the piano theme from her previous website and completely re-designed it with more graphic elements and an elegant but eye-catching colour scheme. A “Latest Release” banner with music player was added to the header and we also implemented a sample player on each product page, allowing users to listen to short samples of each track. All players also appear on the product comparison page, making it possible for customers to listen to all samples from a single page before purchasing their favourite tracks.What we did: Designed completely bespoke Magento template, configured product catalogue, extended Magento core functionality to include music sample player, configured blog extension.

GeoWear

Case study: GeoWear are a company based in the Scottish Highlands and dedicated to providing specialist clothing and accessories for home gardeners and landscape professionals. They came to us with some basic design concepts already in place, but unsure as to how to implement them. After an initial consultation, Magento was selected as the ideal ecommerce platform for delivering the required functionality. Because of the large catalogue of products on offer, it was essential to provide users with advanced search options, including the ability to narrow down searches based on brand, garment type, gender and other specific attributes. A product image zoom-in function and front page image slider was also required, as well as a blog and newsletter template. Each category within the store was to feature an individual header image to help it stand out: professional photoshoots were carried out in order to provide high quality images, which were then carefully integrated into a bespokely designed Magento template. The resulting visual impact is elegant and enticing, making for a highly satisfying browsing experience.What we did: Created bespoke Magento template, configured product catalogue, extended Magento core functionality to include product slider, enhanced zoom-in feature, promotional gift option and blog, designed and configured bespoke newsletter template.
